South Philly native Jonathan “JR” Rowan today finalized his submission of over 3,000 signatures to get on the Democratic ballot for state representative in the 184th state house district.
“I’ve lived in this district all my life, and the widespread support of South Philadelphia Democrats demonstrates the strength of my campaign,” said Rowan. “I’m tremendously grateful to all the volunteers and Democratic committee people who helped me secure my place on the ballot.”
Now that his paperwork is in, JR will focus on knocking on doors in South Philadelphia to discuss issues and concerns with district residents.
“I’ve already had hundreds of great conversations with residents in our community,” Rowan continued. “They are looking for a fighter who will stand up for our values in Harrisburg, but someone who also understands the legislative process and can work to bring back vital resources for our schools, seniors, and working families.”
JR is a lifelong resident of South Philadelphia and has served our community for 20 years in the district offices of two state senators. He has also been involved locally as a coach at EOM Athletic Association, youth sports organizer, board member of Victims Witness Services of South Philadelphia, honorary board member of the South Philadelphia Civic Association, and Democratic Executive Committee Representative.
