Former City Council President Anna Verna today announced her endorsement of South Philly native Jonathan J.R. Rowan’s campaign for state representative.
“I’ve seen the work J.R. Rowan has done over 20 years and I know he understands South Philadelphia,” said Verna. “He will continue to fight in Harrisburg for our communities, schools, seniors and working families.”
Verna broke ground in city government as the first woman in Philadelphia history to serve as City Council President.
Rowan’s campaign has also been endorsed by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, Councilman Mark Squilla, Senator Larry Farnese, State Representative Maria Donatucci, State Representative Bill Keller, IAFF Local 22, FOP Lodge 5, IUOE Local 542, District Council 21, Iron Workers Local 405, IUEC Local 5, Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, Teamsters Local 115, Bricklayers Local 1, ILA Local 1291, IATSE Local 8, Steamfitters Local 420, Plumbers Union Local 690, Iron Workers Local 401, Teamsters Local 628, Laborers District Council, Sprinklerfitters Local 692, and CWA District 2-13, Locals 13,000, 13,301 & 13,500.
